One of the real highlights of our 2025 Summer BBQ at Ferndale Nursing Home was the fantastic live singer and entertainment that brought the whole afternoon to life. From the moment the music began, there was a noticeable lift in the atmosphere, with smiles, toe tapping, and plenty of singalongs quickly following.

Our live singer performed a wonderful mix of well-known classics and much-loved favourites, many of which sparked memories for our residents and created a real sense of nostalgia. It wasn’t long before residents, families, and staff were joining in, whether that meant singing along to familiar tunes, clapping to the rhythm, or simply enjoying the music together in the sunshine.

Music has a special way of bringing people together, and this was clear to see throughout the day. For some residents, certain songs brought back fond memories of earlier years, while for others, it was simply about enjoying the moment and the uplifting energy that live music creates. The performance added a real sense of occasion to the BBQ, turning a lovely afternoon into something even more memorable.

There were moments of laughter, dancing, and shared enjoyment, with families joining residents in the garden to soak up the atmosphere. Our entertainer did a brilliant job of engaging with everyone, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere where all felt welcome to take part. It’s these little touches that make such a big difference, helping to ensure that every resident can enjoy the day in a way that suits them.
